Jim and Lori Haubrick

Servant’s Heart Transport

A decade ago, Jim and Lori Haubrick took over a local medical transportation company in Prescott that was going through hard times. Together, they saw a gap in the transportation industry— services that often felt impersonal, unreliable, or lacking compassion. Fueled by their own experiences as caregivers and advocates, they set out to create a company that treated every client with the respect and attention they would want for their own loved ones. They renamed it “Servant’s Heart” to honor their family’s deep Christian faith and shared passion for helping others. “It’s about building relationships,” Jim said. Their drivers are CPR trained and have background checks, they dress professionally and keep their vans clean and well-maintained. The first impression is so important in helping families feel they are safe and in good hands, he said.

As they’ve grown, their family has joined in to help with the business. Jim and Lori are semi-retired now and have handed the day-to-day operations to daughters Maddie and Natalia and son Dallas. Dallas says he really enjoys talking with the clients he transports, sometimes spending hours in the van with him as they drive to and from Phoenix. “They have a captive audience and I get to hear everything about their lives,” he said, laughing. “I really enjoy their life stories and getting to know them.” He says sometimes drivers will even stop by and say hello to clients they’ve previously dropped off at local nursing and rehabilitation facilities when they are driving a new client over to the same place.

The core part of their business is non-emergency medical transportation service. Their stretcher and wheelchair vans average about 30 runs a day, sometimes starting as early as 3 a.m. Often the trips are local around the quad cities or down to Phoenix and back – picking up or delivering clients to area hospitals, hospices, dialysis centers and medical appointments. Jim shared that one nursing home resident had a standing appointment for Servant’s Heart to take to and from church every Sunday.

They’ve also taken clients on longer trips, including multi-day journeys to North Carolina and New York. Many of the trips are between locations in Prescott and Phoenix, but sometimes even California, New Mexico and Kansas from time to time. Wherever clients need to go they will work hard to find a way to make it happen and live up to their mission to provide reliable, compassionate, and faith-guided transportation for individuals who deserve nothing less than the best care.
